Tuesday Tip-Thanksgiving Style

I've been reading up on all of the ideas different sites have for keeping off the Holiday pounds.  Some are just laughable while others actually make sense.  Here are a few of the things I actually try to do to limit my holiday bulge.

1. Stick to your workout schedule.
2. Do not fast before a big meal.  Yes, eat healthy and light, but EAT or you will be twice as tempted.
3. Slow down.  Yes, it is okay to be the last person eating.  Take a bite, chew, and enjoy.
4. Do not grab the biggest plate and load it up.  Take a small plate or one of the kids plates.  Pick out your favorites and some healthy food too to fill your smaller plate.
5. Eat until you're satisfied, not until you're full.  You have to save room for dessert too!
6. If you are asked to bring something, pick something healthy.  A delicious salad with granny smith apples, cranberries and pecans is a delicious fall salad.
7. Allow yourself to take a day to just relax.  Thanksgiving is one day a year.  Enjoy it!  Just stay away from the leftovers!
