Foodie Friday-An ode to oats
I eat oatmeal every day (if you didn't notice from my daily food lists). Skip the premade packets and take the 5 minutes to make your own. 1/2 cup quick oats, 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk, 1/2-1 1/2 cups water depending on your desired consistency and 1 tsp of your favorite sweetener (I was using brown sugar, but have been giving truvia a try-1/4 tsp of truvia). Microwave for 3-5min depending on your microwave and watching it so it doesn't over flow. I like to add cinnamon and 1/2 cup pumpkin or apple sauce during the fall. Blueberries and walnuts or strawberries and almonds are great during the summer. Don't be afraid to throw in a few mini chocolate chips for a special treat. I love my Oatmeal!
